September

The crisp, cool, inviting days

of September

have lost their appeal.

Attacks on our way of life

thousands killed

questions unanswered

a state of shock

as planes plummet from

the bright blue September skies

ending our comfortable

easy lives

as

Americans.

And yet, despite the loss of thousands

my thoughts

return

to the loss

of one

so full of life

who also left us

in

September.
