Chapter 20, Don V. Drye

Son of Don and Janie Drye

How many times have we all seen children pretending to fly like an airplane? This painting for Don V. Drye captures that innocence of flying from the perspective of a cherub, who can fly, but can also still pretend. As this painting evolved, I wanted to show a vintage airplane from a time when flying was more personal. I wanted to duplicate the young angel’s feeling of being able to fly symbolically.  – Wayne Taylor
